In the kitchen, there are different ingredients that also have different effects on the mouth, so think carefully about how you plan to use some thick cream substitutes in your dinner. For example, these changes can directly influence your soups and sauces. Read this article carefully and decide shortly after which change will work best for you.

Among the substitutes for thick cream are:

 1. Half and Half with Butter

The half-and-half mixture and butter are among the best substitutes for thick cream. And we will not hesitate to put them in our list, thick cream and half-half are products made from cream. The difference between the two is that half-half is a set of sugar and milk, and it then contains about a third of the fat.

However, using half and half with a little butter works great for your dishes. To replace the thick cream by half, you can use the same amount. But only if your recipe is not to whip.

 2. Milk and Butter

The use of milk is really similar to that of half and half, the milk can also be used by mixing it with melted butter to replace the thick cream.

In terms of replacement, to use a cup of thick cream, you need to mix three-quarters of a cup of milk and one-third of a cup of melted butter. Like the half-half, This mixture is not also suitable for whisking.

 3. Evaporated milk

Evaporated or concentrated milk is an excellent substitute for thick cream. This evaporated milk is often used in recipes using thick cream in liquid form.

Like many forms of milk, it usually does not whip very well, but choosing evaporated milk is a great idea to add moisture to some bakery products like bread and others. You can then replace the thick cream with the same amount of evaporated milk without problems.

 4. Coconut cream

Coconut-based cream is also one of the best choices to choose as a substitute for thick cream for two apparent reasons:

The first reason is that it does not contain any dairy products, and it is good for those who have serious product sensitivity problems, and it can also be whipped easily.

The second reason is that coconut milk naturally contains sugar, so it adds a good flavor and works well as a dessert in your food.

 5. Cream cheese

Instinctively, cream cheese may not be the first choice of thick cream that comes to mind, but that doesn’t mean you have to completely ignore this product.

You should know that cream cheese does not whip like coconut, but it is a very good complement to heavy foods such as sauces, soups and icing.

However, it is best to use it for foods that blend well with the texture and tangy taste of cheese. If you don’t have cheese, you can try mascarpone.

 6. Greek yogurt and milk

When you want to make your dish thick, the Greek yogurt does the trick. Indeed, this yogurt is thicker as a substitute for thick cream.

To use it, you must mix an equal amount of Greek yogurt and milk so that it is so close to the consistency of the thick cream. You can also add heat to your dish to avoid cooling quickly.

 7. Soy milk and olive oil

To use it, you have to mix two thirds of a cup of milk with one third of a cup of olive oil for an incredible non-dairy substitute. However, it should be noted that it does not produce the desired taste of fresh sugar and does not whip well.
