All the foods that are the basis of Indian cuisine provided by Trader Joe’s are not safe to eat, but some Indian foods, surprisingly, in their frozen dishes really caught our attention. We are really happy, in this article, to try to give you an opinion on Trader Joe’s Tikka Masala chicken dish.
According to the official website of Trader Joe, this Indian recipe has been available on their kitchen menu since 2009. And it’s a favorite dish among which Trader Joe employees love the most. It is then time for us to take stock, and to give our humble opinion while enjoying the dish for ourselves.
One of the complaints that can be said about butter chicken with basmati rice is that it takes a lot of time to cook. This recipe takes about 9 minutes in the microwave. That’s huge.
Fortunately, we can notice that the chicken tikka masala of Trader Joe does not take as much time to cook compared to rice.
After only 3 minutes in the microwave, stir the dish gently and microwave for an additional 60 to 90 seconds to balance the sauce. And everything is perfect for eating!
To serve it on the table, you can notice that chicken tikka masala and rice are only separated by a simple partition. The rice is visible as a simple splash in the sauce, and the sauce is also like a splash in the rice, vice versa.
So maybe it’s not a separation that’s really perfect, but this meal tastes better when you mix them all together, so this separation between sauce and rice doesn’t really matter.
One can observe, while eating, that chicken tikka masala is a bit dry, but it is nice when it is completely soaked in sauce.
A Trader Joe Tikka Masala chicken can contains, as you can see on its packaging, about 360 calories (130 of which come from fat), which is not too bad for your health. Of course, the dish is not perfectly healthy, but it will not break you if you have a calorie diet. We can also notice that the sodium level is also at a good level, namely 580 mg.
To eat, Trader Joe’s Chicken Tikka Masala is such a delicious dish that you should savour it with immense attention. Of course, it’s not as good as their Korma Fish Curry dish. As very few frozen dishes of Indian cuisine can achieve this perfection systematically, then we will prefer this chicken dish.
